Hagley Museum & Library

Located on 235 acres along the banks of the Brandywine in Wilmington, Delaware, Hagley is the site of the gunpowder works founded by E. I. du Pont in 1802. This example of early American industry includes restored mills, a workers' community, and the ancestral home and gardens of the du Pont family.

Looking for a distinctive space to host your next special event? Hagley Museum and Library has a wide range of buildings and rooms throughout the 235-acre property available to members for private events. Hagley can host an intimate lunch for 20 or cocktail party for up to 200. The staff treats every event as a unique opportunity to use their space and is happy to answer any of your questions or to arrange a visit to our private event facilities.

Hagley’s unique wedding venue, The Soda House, was built in 1888. Constructed of local Brandywine blue rock and set against the rolling hills of Chateau Country, there is no other venue like it in the Brandywine Valley. Imagine your photos set in a historic French heirloom garden next to the original du Pont family home, an elegant backdrop to photos and lovely in every season. The Soda House is also the perfect place to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, bar/bat mitzvahs or any other occasion!
